How does such a blatant and obvious conflict of interest not immediately elicit censure from a superior court? This feels like it should be wildly illegal. But this is America, I guess.

Hans Reiser murdered his wife in 2006. That’s not a joke, or but it’s also a meme.

In fairness to Trump (I just threw up in my mouth a little saying that), the pandemic did start in his final year in office.
But also, I don’t think the response could have been handled more ineptly.

He knows he’s going to loose officially. I’m becoming more convinced that he thinks he can legitimately pull off a coup when he’s not actually president. He thinks that just because he has Secret Service protection and has a Teflon-esque legal record that he can just do what he wants to.

There was a two-generation long lithography issue that they had not been able to solve. You are grossly understating the technical scope of the problem, as well as the trust issues Intel themselves created with the way they handled the whole debacle.
I’m not ever going to buy a 13/14 gen Intel core unless it’s at absolute bargain basement prices. In a professional IT context, nobody in purchasing departments should be buying the impacted SKUs in the affected date range (and practically, that means “they won’t buy those SKUs, full stop”).

That’s… not an accurate characterization.
I would have voted for Sanders in a heartbeat. And a lot of other (Americans) on my instance would too. The disdain is more targeted and nuanced than that. A whole lot of us on sh.it just.works have a reasonably solid understanding of the difference between communism and authoritarian communism, and are also often geopolitical nerds to one degree or another. This often leads to us doing our best to combat what we see as bullshit disinformation and misrepresentation when and where we see it.
The vitriol we have towards tankies is specifically a result of:
- our dislike of the glorification of historical authoritarian leaders (Stalin; Mao)
- the intentional blurring of the line between communism (which, bluntly, many of us don’t actually have a problem with) and authoritarian communism
- the jingoistic support of modern authoritarian states that either call themselves “communist” despite not really being anything of the sort (China), or who have a historical lineage that runs through an (again, authoritarian) communist state (Russia)
When looked at that way, it’s a lot closer to modern Iron Front ideology (anti-monarchy; anti-fascist; anti-authoritarian communist).

For real, it was imo the most categorically awful geopolitical play he (and Merkel, to boot) made while in office. Like, Neville Chamberlain-grade awful.

Stewart also more or less got Tucker’s original show taken off the air because he fucking CRUCIFIED - but in a hilariously subtle and elegant fashion - on Tucker’s own show when he was invited as a guest.

I think you underestimate the martyr effect. I don’t think his supporters will stop.
At the same time, I think we need to start seriously thinking about how to make inroads into deprogramming people. There are a lot of people who it won’t work for, sure, but at the same time, there’s got to be a nonzero fraction of the maga crowd that we can try to pull back towards rationality. The more the true hardliners are marginalized, the less effective they’ll become in the mainstream.

More recently, he had the following commentary about Trump:
gravitas_deficiency 3d ago • 100%
I’ve gone back and forth on what to do in the event of a Trump win. I’m honestly not sure what I should do at this point. Like yeah, I live here, and I want to defend the place I grew up in from fascists… but if the government just converts to fascism, I’m not sure there’s a way to save this place in it’s current incarnation. It’ll probably be Balkanized to one degree or another after a LOT of messy conflict. And the corollary there is that we won’t be backstopping global stability, like, at all any more, which will have a shitload of absolutely horrific effects in so, so many regions. And yeah - I get that a lot of countries resent American hegemony. As an American, we’ve done a pretty shit job of “defending democracy” (largely because authoritarian regimes are the more stable option for basing agreements). But at the same time, I can guaran-fucking-tee you that Russian and CCP hegemony will be worse.
Edit: lol yeah, I deserve this, I teed it up rather magnificently.

Dynamic protection, in essence, is blocks of plastic that explode towards the cumulative stream of anti-tank ammunition and deflect it to the side. Placing this protection on anything other than the powerful armor of a tank is fraught with even greater damage to the “protected” object. Personal commentary: reading the summary (I did not watch the interview live), I’m not really seeing anything that assuages my concerns about his mental acuity. More importantly, I’m not seeing anything that indicates he’s being anything even close to as pragmatic as Macron is being with the election they’re doing now in France, with regards to just trying to make sure the fascists do not fucking win. I must admit I’m feeling quite pessimistic about things.
Also available with a roasted crab, which is what they’re famous for, but this version is still delicious, because those noodles are straight crack
