Classic Redditor reply. Thank you, no thank you. 💀

You are beyond delusional if you think the Fediverse is not intrinsically related to Linux and pretty much all major FOSS schools of thought.

I will gladly get fired over doing what is morally right. But anyway, the guy said he was going to pay the other guys food. 🤷

Thank you for prooving my suspicion that eventually even Lemmy would be home for the Redditest of Redditors. I hope you have the day you deserve. ✨

Didn't know that. Can you tell me who is supposed to enforce this and where is the law from?
When you accept the ToS I always understood that I was signing in for emails, just like (in my experience) 100% of other services/sites like Spotify, Proton, Bandcamp, eBay, Facebook, X, GitHub... well I'm not gonna list every single one but you get me.
Still, thank you for educating me.

OP created an account > didn't signed out on emails > gets email > 😠😠😠😠
No, but seriously, this is not toxic marketing, the "users" are emotes, something very clever but that is lost on you and that's fine; but to call it toxic... I don't know Rick.
- I will keep the comment as is, I was informed this is illegal in some regions. Marketing is... marketing & as someone that has worked for agencies I am knowledgeable enough to admit that some tactics are indeed invasive an/or dubious. No offense to anyone was intended.
Just curious. Also, anyone playing BR or esports TPS?

No. You're delusional to think that "eventually" is ever going to become reality. Not tomorrow, not in your whole lifetime.
You're not hard to ignore--actually, you're pretty easy to ignore at proven by both groups of moderators.

I agree with you. However for future reference: veganism ≠ plant based diet. It's more nuanced than that. Not all vegans stick to plant based food and not all plant based people are vegans. Hence, diet is not the main attribute of veganism.
A more educated way of being dismissive is I don’t care about your morals or philosophy or ethics or lifestyle or worldview or principles.

I consume the web in 4 languages. Even BEFORE going vegan I saw unprompted meat comments on literally any video/recepie, in those 4 languages, that didn't have meat on it from vegan/healthy creators. For years. I can bet you 69k tons of my own spit you will find similar comments yourself if you look out for them rn.

Understanding Linux kernel is medium hard, but not frustrating. Using a DE is NOT frustrating if you understand what's up with their core ideals. D-Bus, HOOKS, env variables... meh I can give you that. But 95% of users live in the web and/or office apps. And for that literally any flavor of Linux will do. My in laws would never in their lifetimes be able to distinguish Arch + KDE + SDDM + themes from Windows. I can bet my right testicle.

No way Jose. If anything their approach is inspired by Fedora Atomic, which is the cornerstone of Bazzite.
Other than that, yes, a very very solid approach for daily usage for casual gamers.

Everyone was a newbie at one point, even people with natural affinity and extraordinary talent. It never pays off to gatekeep your community, it will die and so will the interest of it. Be welcoming. A great teacher can explain really complex stuff in really simple terms. Stay kind.

whose sole purpose is violence.
Let's get real. Its whole purpose is death, nothing lesser nothing else. Sure, you maybe able to stop immediate danger and call it a day with good aim and perfect situation awareness but no gun owner has one to tickle and softly kiss people.

There's no way you're breathing enough ozone anywhere on walkable Earth for you to taste it. However trapped CO2 form the surrounding air in water particles flowing in the air may explain this, the taste is bitter, slightly sharp.

Swapping an Aeron with a Corsair gaming chair is insane to me to think about. At least you feel comfortable I guess.
I had the previous supported version and then it just stopped working. YouTube is not blocked in my network at all. I patched the latest supportid version and it keep showing this error after hanging for about 20 seconds. What could cause this? ![](https://lemm.ee/api/v3/image_proxy?url=https%3A%2F%2Flemmy.world%2Fpictrs%2Fimage%2Fa429901b-77ec-4b88-85e9-92b4c13e0cbf.png) ![](https://lemm.ee/api/v3/image_proxy?url=https%3A%2F%2Flemmy.world%2Fpictrs%2Fimage%2F85b724df-75cd-4653-a8a3-b606f69d49f2.png)
EDIT: So because of my $0 budget and the fact that my uptime is around 50% (PC, no additional servers) I ended up using NextDNS. For the time being it works (according to [dnsleaktest](https://dnsleaktest.com)), an added benefit was improved ad-blocking (100% in this [tool](https://d3ward.github.io/toolz/adblock.html)). I now have plans for a proper router in the future with a Pi-hole. Thanks so much for all the info & suggestions, definitely learnt a lot. So it turns out I got myself into an ISP that was shittier than expected (I already knew it was kinda shitty), they DNS hijack for whatever reason and I can't manually set my own DNS on my router or even my devices. Cyber security has never been my forte but I'm always trying to keep learning as I go. I've read that common solutions involve using a different port (54) or getting a different modem/router or just adding a router. Are they all true? Whats the cheapest, easiest way of dealing with all of this?
Yeah, just the title. Only thing they open source is plugins.
I know an option called "Screen Share" exist under Sharing for GNOME but I do not have it. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/c6ad2b82-3896-4c7c-a341-3157818ef281.png) I installed Arch manually with minimal everything and I think I'm lacking either a service or a whole library but I cannot pin point it. Any ideas. I have `libvncserver` installed and GNOME Connections. Maybe a `gsettings` flag?
Everything about the Colemak layout and it's mods. Feel free to submit your questions or configs!
I feel like this explains a lot of my struggles on personal relationships. Not **all of it**, but for sure a lot.
