In interviews there's "coding" or "labelling". That's where you label certain phrases to find connections and meaning. If you're doing kwantitative research, that "coding" would also be kwantitative, so numbers. Which would be the counting of words

So. "Kwantitative coding". It's probably not what you're looking for, but it's the closest I could come up with.

I like to think I know how to use a computer, but I mostly use my phone for private stuff. I have a few things running on my PC, but they're all online now in my local network and they have a mobile website through which I interact with them. Even my TV runs a frontend for things on my computer. Computer stuff has become an even broader spectrum of devices and skills than it used to be 20 years ago.

I have thought the same thing many times, but I'm not completely certain the math checks out. Does lemmy have a "theydidthemath"? Otherwise I might try to figure this one out for once...

I honestly appreciate the current scale of Lemmy. It feels nostalgic of oldskool forums or even oldskool reddit. But I can't deny the a larger scale brings certain advantages that are almost essential for a modern online community. It also brings risks. I'm very curious to see where the future will lead lemmy and if it will be able to withstand the traps others haven fallen into.

That's under the current economic system, yes. If you want to use immigrants to sustain the current system, you're just pushing the problem forward to a point where either Europe can't offer any more room for immigrants or there are no immigrants left to migrate.

We need tighter migration policies like we need an ibuprofen for a toothache.

It's a pretty good marketing strategy, to be honest. I'm telling all my friends about this as I'm writing this post.

I'm looking for the practicalities here. I've never used steam, but I can understand that you buy a game and download it. You wait for the download to finish and than install the game. Easypeasy. How does that work with Humble? Do I have to enter a key or something? I want to buy [Timberborn](https://www.humblebundle.com/store/timberborn?hmb_source=search_bar&_gl=1*cyyxfe*_up*MQ..&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIh8Pdzt_5hwMVcjoGAB1ZvRH_EAAYASAAEgJuNvD_BwE). It says it's "early acces" does that mean it's not the full game and I should instead just buy it via steam?

In this letter, Dijkstra talks about readability and maintainability in a time where those topics were rarely talked about (1968). This letter was one of the main causes why modern programmers don't have to trouble themselves with goto statements. Older languages like Java and C# still have a (discouraged) goto statement, because they (mindlessly) copied it from C, which (mindlessly) copied it from Assembly, but more modern languages like Swift and Kotlin don't even have a goto statement anymore.

So I'm making a project in SpringBoot with Oauth security. If I use Auth0 as my Authorization Server, I can register an application there and just say that I want user to be able to login with Google an Facebook. That's all it takes. If I use Keycloak as my Authorization Server, I can also have users choose Google or Facebook as there prefered login, but in order to provide that, I have to register my app with Google and Facebook first. So how come it's so easy with Auth0 and a little less easy with Keycloak? Is it a contract thing, does Auth0 have contracts with all these providers or something?
