Right now Discord, Slack, and other chat platforms seem to be becoming dominant. But now everything is not only locked away from the open web, but also ephemeral.
Mastodon seems to be doing pretty well and continuing to grow. Lemmy seems to have been stagnant for many months now though. I guess we're waiting on Reddit to piss their users off about something again before we'll see another surge here.

Sigh, so is Mozilla just like Google now? Can't trust any services to stick around?

PS5 came out in 2020, PS6 is expected in 2028 or ’29. We're right at the half way point. Seems about just right really

Yep, pretty damn messed up. They put out like 3 or 4 of them before I guess enough people complained about the overt propaganda targeting minors

I couldn't find anything on the open web, but I delved in to the Discord for /r/GravityFalls today and they've been working on this one, but are still stumped.
The binary theory hasn't panned out yet. They also tried turning it into a barcode amongst many others

Hmm, that's a good idea. Although I guess we'd need to make the assumption it always starts with and ends with a 1, as there would be no way to know how many trailing spaces (0) there are 🤔

I watched a video with Alex Hirsch and real life twin sister talking about how they were the inspiration for the Pines twins. And so Alex is Dipper and probably focus on him a bit more than Mabel. In the interview they talked about one of those times where Dipper gave up something for her, and he said something to the extent of Dipper needed to learn something here and be the bigger person. But I don't think he put as much emphasis on character growth for Mabel
So there were a number of cryptographic systems used in the show, but the Book of Bill and thisisnotawebsitedotcom.com has introduced some new ones. The main one I've seen discussed is the color bands believed to be the Euclydian language. And I think there's a way to find a codex for them on the site, but I can't remember the command right now. [edit: here's [a decoder](https://www.dcode.fr/gravity-falls-colors)] However, I haven't seen anyone anywhere talking about these series of boxes. They appear in multiple places, not just the example I've attached here. I think it's yet another crypto system! At first I noticed some were squarish and wide, while others were skinny. So my first assumption was maybe it's Morse Code. But then I noticed some of the skinny ones were thinner than the others. And some of the boxes were wider than the others. So I now believe there are 4 characters, 2 skinny and 2 wide. But I'm stumped on what to do with them. Any ideas?

I have a similar theory. I think there will either be a movie or a mini-series. And the recent Disney Channel YouTube video "How NOT to Draw Grunkle Stan" is the biggest piece of proof I've seen. The timing for it to come out now is just too much to be coincidence. I had thought the website was simply to promote the book before that came out, but now I believe it means something more

Well, I mention that type of psuedo console device within the video. But I think it's going to be a third option.
But yes, if Valve came out with their own full fledged console, the Xbox would have a big problem. And it's the operating system they fear the most. If SteamOS picks up traction beyond just the SteamDeck, Windows is in trouble

The Verge was a breathe of fresh air when it first launched. The rest of tech news had enshitified pretty well at the time. But now they've been around long enough to be the establishment rather than the disruptor
In my new video [OC], I recount the rise and fall of E3, and what kind of legacy it has left behind. And then I go through the one time I got to go back in 2001

I'm new to the area and would love to meet people interested in this kind of synthrock music. Or at least to hear about some local/regional bands with something similar going on. (I'm not seeing any Portland music communities yet, so hopefully this is okay here)
