The outline visible on the map also doesn't seem to fit reality. Interesting glitch - I wonder how this came into existence - maybe the ocean monument chunks were calculated the moment the map was created but nothing around it was.

That would be a horrible experience: You sign up (even if it's just for a dollar) and then you would have to wait a month until you can play the new stuff. This way they are still giving away the single player campaign and one month of multiplayer for a fraction of the original price. If you want to buy the game it might even be cheaper to sign up and buy it with the included discount and then cancel again.

Titanfall 2: You have a titan as a companion for most of the game (there are segments where you're on your own though). And it's a fantastic single player campaign.

Sure, it existed. But context is necessary to understand its significance. If the context is missing or twisting accepted historic events I would say it is a bad thing.

My working theory always was: Star Wars is better without lightsabers

The more lightsabering and force using there is it gets worse.

Maybe someone can help me out here: I was going to watch this with my wife. She has seen Wandavision, but she skipped some of the newer shows. Is there any sign yet that you should've watched any of them before?

In future when we land on other planets we will need a different calendar, Do you think we need a secular calendar or the current Gregorian one?

I don't get why exactly the calendar needs to change? Because the seasons don't line up any more? I suppose over thousands of years the expectation when winter is happening will have moved as well. Or is it because days and years won't match with other planets? That's not something a calendar can fix.

So you haven't read the title either? This is about late dining - so showing the latest available option seems to be a good indicator for me.

What I meant was that it will not be that hard to replicate. It might feel complicated and deep but most likely isn't that complex. Sure - without analyzing the original source code (which isn't legally available as far as I know) - it might be impossible to recreate the exact behavior, but it should be possible to mimic the behavior - it might just take a few attempts to fine tune the input parameters.

Demis Hassabis is a genius in the field of artificial intelligence, but the AI of Black & White is 20+ years old and runs on pretty limited hardware (by today's standards).

Does this happen to anyone else? As soon as I open the post (it's in the !selfhosted@lemmy.world community) I briefly see the contents and then Boost crashes. So it could be a comment causing this or the post itself when fully loaded. I'm using a Pixel 6 with Android 14.

I am currently using Bring! with my wife to organize our grocery shopping. I am looking for a self hosted alternative. I looked at the awesome self-hosted list and tried Specifically Clementines and of course Grocy. I like that Grocy also includes meal planning although the whole inventory management is too much for us. What I don't like is the interface for both of them. I don't see us using this while in the store with a kid on the arm. It is way too fiddly and complicated. Also adding new items to the list is rather complicated in both apps. Do you have any suggestions for other projects with a more user friendly interface (even if it means less features)?
