Hey all! This Lemmy instance has been a pain from the start with issues with sending email from the server itself. After 3 days of digging in code, checking configs and testing I give up. Yesterday I ran a test on a 'clean' domain and a brand new server with the exact same config files we use on u.fail and it all worked right away.. So.. I've got a new domain 'Geddit.social' and setup a brand new Lemmy instance with all features right out of the box! If you are on u.fail please be aware this instance will close down soon. I'm sorry, I really tried fixing the issue Feel free to signup on https://Geddit.social to continue your journey on Lemmy(from u.fail) *love*!

After search wouldn't show a bunch of communities, I started manually just editing the URLs and then I ran into a new set of problems. If I go direct to the lemmy instances they work, but via this instance, I'm getting a bunch of 404s. The list - https://u.fail/c/music@beehaw.org - https://u.fail/c/piracy@lemmy.ml - https://u.fail/c/linux_gaming@lemmy.ml - https://u.fail/c/linuxhumor@lemmy.ml - https://u.fail/c/linuxhumor@lemmy.ml - https://u.fail/c/fdroid@lemmy.ml - https://u.fail/c/futurology@lemmy.ml - https://u.fail/c/googlepixel@lemmy.ml - https://u.fail/c/fedora@lemmy.ml - https://u.fail/c/britishproblems@feddit.uk - https://u.fail/c/uktrees@feddit.uk - https://u.fail/c/fossdroid@social.fossware.space Apologies, for some reason I seem to be finding all the bugs.

Is it cool to create communities here? Will it work? I like the vibe but total noob to lemmy, don't want to rock the boat or cause problems.

I noticed I'm not seeing communities from .ml, I'm assuming it's because it's defederated. Is there a list available?

I don't quite see through now if ufail will remain a Lemmy instance or if that's still open. If it remains a Lemmy instance, I would suggest installing [lemmyBB](https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmyBB) as an additional interface for those who struggle with the Reddit-oriented interface or simply prefer forums.

First off, thanks for running this instance. I run my own Mastodon instance but was too lazy to set up my own Lemmy instance. Wanted to ask if anyone else is having issues making posts in a remote community? I'm trying to make a new post to the VA-11 HALL-A community (!waifubartending@lemmy.world). When I click on the Create button it'll just sit there and spin indefinitely. Subscribing and votes seem to work just fine, but posts and comments don't. I've made a comment in !retrogaming@lemmy.world successfully, so it might be something specific to that community. *(Edit: Updated title to reflect that it's one community.)*

Hi. I have a question about u.fail. do you will change the software here again, or I can switch now? this is a question, that is crucial for me, I need to have a stable server where everything will work as good as possible, so I want to check
