So... I really, really, REALLY want to get better at sewing. I can sew some simple things like zipper bags, but it's like every time I completely forgot the last time and have to start over again. I am desperate for a step-by-step for complete beginners guide that I can use to retain some knowledge and will allow me to build up confidence and skills. Tonight I took apart my wife’s favourite fleece pyjama pants so I can make a [#sewing](https://mastodon.social/tags/sewing) pattern (tomorrow)… they’re almost 18 years old! This is the hard/long way of replicating a [#pattern](https://mastodon.social/tags/pattern), I know, but it’s also the most accurate. Not fun when it’s exclusively overlocked/serged seams! They needed new elastic in the waistband anyways. By taking these pants apart and essentially reverse-engineering them, I noticed/learned a few tricks they employed when making them, too!
