Religious faith is a concept that has been defined in various ways, from trust to the biblical definition found in Hebrews: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." The elusive nature of its definition makes it unclear as to what religious faith truly is. Can anyone shed some light on its true nature? Furthermore, according to the bible, why should it be considered better evidence than things that can be seen?

Much like a Kaniza triangle ![](https://lemm.ee/api/v3/image_proxy?url=https%3A%2F%2Flemmy.ca%2Fpictrs%2Fimage%2F047d017f-10be-4ad0-a52a-36dd518cd608.png) where the artist has not drawn a triangle, this sphere was not drawn by the artist and is known as a contour illusion. I like to think this is how theists see god. They see evidence that they consider divine that outlines or contours the shape of something that isn't there. I'd like to close this post with a quote from Pascal that I find both fitting and oddly humorous. There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus.
