Ngl this is a pretty great photo. Dynamic, emotional, and eye-catching. Look at that expression. Really captures the moment... of violence and stupidity.

    Such a waste.

  • Wytch Wytch 2w ago 100%

Thanks. I don't take my work home as such but I also do have a partner that lends a sympathetic ear when I need it. So I'm lucky in that regard. Truthfully, I get to focus on my home life the moment I'm off the clock.

At the time of answering though, we could have used a few extra hands.

  • How are people dealing with senior pets when they live alone?
  • Wytch Wytch 1mo ago 100%

I've lost four senior pets in the last 3 years, all between 14 and 23 years old.

You make them as comfortable as possible for as long as you can, and you shower them with love and treats for as long as they live.

When you have to let them go, you stay with them until their last breath and you thank them for all the years they gave you.

Go home and bawl your eyes out. Grieve for as long as you have to.

But never, ever, ever give them up or give them away. They deserve better.

His legacy could have also been "80s real estate and business failure goes to prison for SA and financial crimes." Instead, we have a two-tiered justice system and he gets to climb onto Air Force One with toilet paper stuck to his shoe at 72 years of age.

    We're numb to injustice.

Ours is a culture of complacency. Even where demonstrably untrue, we for generations regard ourselves as number one in all aspects of nationhood. The propaganda works as designed. We don't expect more because we already think this is as good as it gets.

This allows the slow erosion of rights and denial of progress that we've seen over the last 50 years. We won't be protesting or demanding things most democracies would consider mandatory. We're too busy trying to get by at this point.

What I really find disappointing about this exchange is how disingenuous this scenario is that you paint. You set up a very vague and overbroad situation and then follow it up with a very specific to the point of anecdotal example as if that refutes my rebuttal.

Like, do you really think I should get bogged down in a response to this new scenario like it's worth considering? Do you genuinely think a random person on the internet is incapable of imagining a scenario such as the one you described and would be floored by it? C'mon dude.

But ok. Sure, let's do this like you have a good point. Here's what should happen. Domestic violence experts who are trained in psychology and deescalation techniques could intervene and create a safe exit for victims of abuse and violence. But you know what? I don't know what exactly that task force would look like or how it would operate. What I do know is, it shouldn't look like those guys in blue who shoot black people in their own homes while existing and chuck flashbangs into cribs.
