Think god I don't have to deal with that. It's not even surprising that it can be even shittier though.

I have to use this shit for work. If you don't set your cookies to auto delete it is basically impossible to go through the Microsoft SSO after around a week. Just use a decent password manager if you can and press enter 4 or five times.

That makes sense then, I wouldn't trust the plane luggage handlers with the pc. In that case you're probably right to sell. I would still price compare for a gpu or cpu and get the rest of the build later, but also heavily factor in the hassle of carrying stuff and basically not having a warranty for parts that you bought in the US.
I did actually move with my gaming pc twice. But I had most of my stuff shipped in a truck and only the essentials on the plane. You'll probably end up having limited space/weight in the checked luggage anyway. Gool luck with the move!

A very convoluted export function though. They really try to lock you in as hard as they can.

Might be better off building a new one in the US and shipping it with your other stuff. Sales tax (import tax?) is pretty bad for electronics in the EU, stuff is a lot more expensive. Everything costs pretty much ~30% more.
You can package the computer in the box of the case and maybe take out the gpu and/or the cpu cooler and pack that separately so it doesn't break in shipping.
How much stuff are you bringing? Are you getting like a shipping container for furniture, etc. or just essentials? Are you staying in one spot for long? If not, gaming laptops might suit you better (once again, cheaper to buy in the US).

To OP though, be careful doing this, you might soft lock yourself out of the OS

As everyone is saying, 8gb is not much and ram is cheap. What I find unforgivable is the pricing on upgrading the ram. $200 for 16gb is just completely unacceptable, I would actually call it discusting. Also the ram is not user replaceable unless you are into micro-soldering, so they've basically got you by the balls. 8gb will much sooner be limiting than the cpu performance on these laptops in the future. Overall, very sleazy, anti-consumer tactic.

I use Buttons Remapper and set the Netflix button to do nothing and override system. You don't need to pay for this but there is other stuff locked behind a pay wall.

I ended up un mapping my Netflix button on my shield TV remote because it was super annoying for accidental presses.
Do the manufacturers even get a cut for promoting these services, or is this just what people want?

I just ment you'd have to cut so much that at that point it would basically be a new game. I'm thinking a bit more from the dev point of view. Like an old rusted-to-hell car, everything is fixable. The question is cost: if you have to replace or re-fabricate every piece than you're better off starting from scratch.
I'm the case of Starfield, changing the core story, characters, missions, and theme is basically the same as replacing the entire car body.
So there is this app claiming on-device iMessage functionality on Android. Seems cool but only has subscription based pricing. Does anyone know of a way to circumvent this? Edit: I found[ this](https://modfyp.com/beeper-mini/#unlock-premium-features-with-beeper-mini-apk-mod) but it seems a bit dodgy
I'm looking for something like the [tab stacking from Vivaldi](https://vivaldi.com/blog/desktop/desktop-releases/vivaldi-tabs-two-level/) or just the way [chrome handles tab groups](https://blog.google/products/chrome/manage-tabs-with-google-chrome/). I've tried [simple tab groups](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/simple-tab-groups/) before but it was occasionally a bit janky and I was looking for a different UI implementation. Not really keen on using a sidebar either and the majority of extensions I found all seemed to be using the sidebar.
I've been using Youtube ReVanced for a while now and noticed the great patches for other apps also available in ReVanced manager. If you are unfamiliar ReVanced can patch other apps with additional functionality such as blocking ads and correcting other annoyances like re-enabling taking screenshots. The whole process involves downloading, upacking, patching, repacking, and installing an APK file and it has shown the slightly aging side of my phones SD845 chip, as it takes a few minutes to complete with larger apps. Its not something that comes up too often, but when it does, it could go a bit smoother. I wouldn't mind seeing some numbers for this workflow when choosing my next phone.
Is there a way to see what posts you have upvoted? I was trying to show a cool thing I saw on lemmy earlier to someone but I can't seem to find a list of my past upvotes. I tried looking in Jerbora, Summit and Liftoff (still trying out the android apps), and also on the webpage of my instance, but none of these seem to have it. Sorry if this has been asked, Google hasn't returned anything relevant.
Just had a shower thought. As Twitter now requires a login and Google is apparently [de-listing](https://www.morningstar.com/news/marketwatch/2023070471/google-reportedly-culls-twitter-links-from-search-results-after-elon-musk-announces-daily-rate-limit-for-twitter-users) most search results for Twitter, it technically qualifies as a *dark web* website, something the media and Hollywood love to throw around as a scary phrase. (It seems users still show up in Google and also some tweets, I just wanted to hear your opinions)
